MOUNTAIN GROVE, Mo. (AP) -- A southern Missouri food processing company is receiving more than $300,000 in state tax credits to help with a business investment designed to create 90 jobs.
Gov. Jay Nixon said Tuesday the credits will help 3G Processing with an estimated $6 million plan to renovate a former steel plant and purchase new equipment. 3G Processing plans to turn food waste into animal feed, primarily for chickens.
3G Processing is a family-owned business. It expects to process more than 1 million pounds of food waste per day.
Nixon traveled to Mountain Grove to discuss the project. He says the proposal would be a boost to the area.
Mountain Grove is about 70 miles east of Springfield in Wright County.
