(KMOV) – A quick reaction from a convenience store employee thwarted a robbery attempt at a convenience store in north St. Louis Tuesday afternoon. It also left a would-be robber shot in the backside, officials say.
According to police, three teens walked into the Northland Market on North Kingshighway attempting to shoplift, but a store employee confronted the teens.
One of the teens reportedly pulled a gun on the worker, a woman in her 50s. Police say that woman then pulled out a gun of her own and shot the armed suspect in the buttocks.
The suspect was arrested at the scene along with a second suspect. The third suspect fled the scene on foot. The worker stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
