(KMOV) -- Interstate 70 at Lucas and Hunt reopened around midnight on Tuesday after a big chain-reaction crash.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol there were nine cars involved in two separate accidents.

It all started when the driver of a Ford F-150 hit a Mazda and sent it into the wall. The truck then hit a Mitsubishi Gallant and sent it into a wall.

Then the same truck hit a Volkswagon Jetta, sending the Jetta into a Chevy.

Because of traffic back-up, three cars were stopped and a Ford Escort came up and hit the car in front of it so hard that all three cars smashed into each other.

Only one person suffered minor injuries.
