(KMOV) – A 20-year-old woman was charged Saturday with kidnapping a one-year-old boy from his mother at a local Target store in Jennings.

Police say Tashi Lance allegedly abducted one-year-old Cortez Beasley from the Target store at 8007 West Florissant. A S.A.R.A.A. alert was initiated on the abduction, and St. Louis County Police and the FBI found Lance and Beasley soon afterward at a home near Lambert Airport.

Police say Lance knew the child’s mother, but say they do not know why she left the store with the child.

Beasley was not injured and he was returned to his mother, police say.

"We are very grateful for the assistance that we received from the FBI, other police departments, the media and the public,” says St. Louis County Police Captain and Acting Chief of the City of Jennings Troy Doyle in a news release. “Our combined efforts brought a one year old safely back to his family.”
