(KMOV) – Residents of one Jennings neighborhood are complaining of a broken fence that separates their homes from a strip mall. Strangers squeeze through the fence and use their yards as a short cut from the shopping center.
One resident, Gussie Harrison, says teens hang out behind her house and has seen them peeking in her windows. She also says she has heard gunshots from behind her home.
Harrison has complained to the City of Jennings several times, but says she has received no action.
The City of Jennings says they have replaced the fence several times, but once the new fence is up, teens break the panels off.
The city cannot afford to keep replacing the fence and says residents need to start paying for the fence.
Harrison, who supports the beautification of Jennings, believes some of that money can go towards replacing the fence.
