(KMOV) -- A surveillance camera captured a man in Jefferson County using a gas powered cut-off saw to try to get into a car wash change machine.

It happened Saturday, November 11, at Sugar Creek Square in Fenton.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's department said a deputy observed two cuts on the change machine.  When he reviewed the surveillance footage he saw a white male, wearing a mask and dressed in a dark colored sweatshirt, green camoflage pants and tan hiking boots cutting on the machine.

The suspect walked to and from the car wash from behind a nearby retaining wall.

He is still on the loose.

If you have any information call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect's unsuccessful theft attempt caused $3,000 damage to the change machine.
