(KMOV) – There’s a new push to do something about flooding, trash and the smell along the River des Peres, which runs through several communities in St. Louis County.
University City is planning another effort to make changes along the river. Back in 2008, more than 200 homes and buildings were condemned for a short time in University City because of flood damage.
It’s flooded a few more times since then.
Homes on Wilson Avenue are being bought out, but homeowners in other neighborhoods have wondered if anyone has been paying attention to them.
Monday night, the mayor will meet with homeowners, and plans to bring up these issues again with the Metropolitan Sewer District and the Army Corps of Engineers.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Heman Park Community Center on Pennsylvania Avenue.
