(KMOV) – Friends and family bid a final farewell to a fallen Marine on Saturday.
Staff Sergeant Jordan Emrick was laid to rest after he was killed by a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan after having served two tours in Iraq.
The 26-year-old was from Hoyleton, Illinois.
Members of the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church threatened to protest his funeral. However, Patriot Guard Riders were on hand to drown out any noise from demonstrators.
