(KMOV) – A un-identified St. Louis man entered a “purchasing agreement” Thursday on the 40,000 square foot mansion in Lake St. Louis, once owned by former U.S. Fidelis owner, Darain Atkinson.
The buyer entered the “purchasing agreement” for $4.75 million, a third of the $14.9 million asking price.
The nine bedroom, 14 bathroom mega mansion was built at a cost of $26 million.
Darain Atkinson and his family didn't spend much time in the lavish estate before his company went bust and the bankruptcy court started seizing his assets.
The sale will not be official until it is approved by the bankruptcy court. The Atkinson’s have until next Monday to find a new home.
