(KMOV) –Homicide detectives are now involved in an investigation after a woman was found dead in a south St. Louis alley early Sunday morning.
According to police, the body of a 47-year-old black woman was found in an alley in the 2200 block of S. Jefferson around 8:15 a.m.
Upon further investigation, it was determined the cause of death was strangulation.
Homicide detectives were called in to continue the investigation. Authorities say they do have a person of interest in custody at this time.
Her identity has not been released pending the notification of the next of kin.
