(KMOV.com) -- St. Louis police sold discounted anti-theft devices known as "car clubs" to members of the public on Saturday, part of an effort to reduce vehicle thefts in the area.
Police sold the clubs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Phillips Gas Station located on the corner of Union and Natural Bridge.
The clubs, which normally sell for approximately $40 retail, were sold at the discounted rate of $13. Clubs were sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, and buyers were required to pay cash.
The event was open to everyone, regardless of residence.
