(HockeyStL) -- A second chance effort on a missed shot gave Vladimir Tarasenko his first goal in his last nine games played and snapped a power play drought that spanned five games.

The seventh goal of the season from Tarasenko knotted the game against the Los Angeles King 1-1 in the second period Thursday and erased a 0-for-12 power play streak for St. Louis. It was the Blues’ first power play goal scored since March 16 against the Anaheim Ducks.

Tarasenko added another goal early in the third period to even the score with the Kings for a second time in the game. It was his second multi-goal game of the season.

The Russian sensation has taken 15 shots in his last four games, but has registered only the two goals scored Thursday.

After Thursday’s 4-2 loss to the Kings, the Blues are 5-for-55 on the power play in their last 19 games.

Tarasenko has posted 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) in 23 games played this season.
