(KMOV.com) -- Police charged a St. Charles County man for several thefts Thursday after they say he first stole from his parents’ home in O’Fallon, Missouri and later stole from area Walmarts.
According to police, 22-year-old Richard Price stole over $12,000 from his family’s home in the 100 block of Wake Forest. The thefts occurred between February 18 and March 17 and included electronics, jewelry and golf clubs.
Price reportedly admitted to filing a false burglary report and stealing the items to support his heroin addiction.
On March 20, police say Price tried to steal two televisions from a Walmart on Highway K in St. Charles County. After placing two TVs in a cart and attempting to walk out, Price was stopped by security and fled on foot.
Police stopped price in his vehicle as he tried to flee, and he admitted to stealing the televisions. After searching his vehicle, officers say they found Blu-Ray players, Playstation 3 games and controllers, and an HDMI cable.
Price reportedly admitted to stealing the items from a Lake St. Louis Walmart earlyier in the day.
According to court documents, he had been kicked out of his home in O’Fallon and was living in his parent’s car.
He is being held on $15,000 bond.
