Police identify body found at East St. Louis housing complex

(KMOV.com) – East St. Louis police discovered the body of a an East St. Louis man in front of a housing complex early Wednesday morning.

After investigation, the St. Clair County Cornoner identified the man as 29-year-old Isaac Windon. The Coroner reports Windon died after being shot in the left arm and shoulder. 

According to East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Floore, Windon was pronounced dead at the scene in the 1200 block of McCasland Avenue. Chief Floore said officers received a call to the complex for shots fired around 5 a.m., but found nothing when they initially responded.

They later received a call at 7:30 a.m. regarding a body, and discovered the Windon.
