( -- A survey commissioned by a pro-Marijuana group claims a majority of Missourians think marijuana should be legal.

Five hundred likely voters surveyed by DHM Research said they supported a ballot measure nearly identical to the Show-Me Cannabis Regulations attempted to be placed on the ballot last year.

According to the study, 50 percent of respondents supported the measure, while five percent were undecided.

The survey showed the support for the proposal increased to 54 percent.

Several cannabis reform laws are currently being considered by Missouri lawmakers.

House Bill 511, if enacted, would allow for expungement of misdemeanor cannabis convictions, while House Bill 512 would reduce penalties for possession of marijuana. House Bill 688 would allow voters to legalize medical marijuana use with a doctor’s prescription

And Senate Bill 358 would allow Missouri farmers to grow hemp, a low potency form of cannabis. That bill is set for a hearing in the Senate Tuesday.
