LOUISVILLE, Ind. -- A Louisville woman was arrested over the weekend after police said she gave officers permission to search her vehicle.
According to a police report, 23-year-old Laura Garcia and another woman were observed to be "manifestly under the influence of unknown substances" to the point of posing a public safety risk.
Police said Garcia gave officers permission to search her car where they found Garcia's child playing in the back seat. Not only did officers find a child, but said they also found two needles loaded with heroin - one in the console and one under the passenger seat in easy reach of the child.
Garcia is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication and endangering the welfare of a minor.
It is not clear at this time if the woman with Garcia was arrested or charged.
