(KMOV.com) – Sunday’s storm meant a snow day for thousands of students on both sides of the Mississippi River the following day.
But while hundreds of school districts called off classes Monday, there were big differences between St. Louis City and St. Louis County when deciding about Tuesday.
The main roads in the county and city are clear, but school officials are concerned about side streets when it comes to city students.
With 16,000 kids riding the school bus, very few of whom live on major roads, district officials want to be sure the buses have a clear path to transport students.
In the Rockwood School District, officials are concerned about high school students and the fact many of them drive to school.
Additionally, many districts have employees scattered across the region, making accessibility hit or miss.
All of the districts News 4 talked with Monday said superintindents will wait until Tuesday evening to make a decision.
