KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A man was fatally pinned at a parking garage toll booth while leaving a science center at Kansas City’s Union Station with his 5-year-old granddaughter and her friend.
Broadcaster KCTV reports that the accident happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday when the man dropped his parking money. When he leaned down to pick up the money, he inadvertently hit the gas in his truck.
That’s when the man was pinned between a toll booth and a garage pillar. Bystanders were able to help the children and move the truck to unpin the man. But police said the man died of the injuries.
No other details were available. Police didn’t immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press.
