(KMOV.com) -- Woodson Terrace police are investigating after a body was found in a conservation area in north St. Louis county on Saturday.
Woodson Terrace Police Chief, Bob Dowling, said the body was found around 9:15 a.m. by cadaver dogs in a conservation area, just off Columbia Bottoms Road. Dowling said his department was contacted by investigators soon after the body was found.
"Right now, we were the only agency in the area that had a missing person report out," Dowling said.
There has been some speculation that the body could belong to missing teen J.J. Willman. The field where the body was found is just two miles away from the rest area on Interstate 270 where police found J.J.'s abandoned car last November.
Chief Dowling expects to learn more after an autopsy. The autopsy is scheduled for Sunday morning.
