Jupiter, Florida (KMOV.com) -- KMOV.com's Brian Feldman is in Jupiter, Florida covering the Cardinals and is posting regular updates from spring training.

2:59 p.m. -- Wild pitch scores Craig. Pitcher must've been scared of Freese!

2:58 p.m. -- Jay sacrifice bunt gets Craig to third...one out. David Freese pinch hits...

2:56 p.m. -- Cards with a chance to win the game in the bottom of the 9th. Tied at two...Allen Craig on 2nd...Jon Jay up.

2:04 p.m. --  Gerald Laird hits an RBI single to right with his favorite person watching here. Steve Spagnuolo. Laird is a giant Rams fan dating back to their LA days.

Mar. 12, 1:24 p.m. - Colby Rasmus diving catch. Here's to seeing more of that this year.

Mar. 12, 1:23 p.m. - Eduardo Sanchez relieves Jake Westbrook. I remember before the game
Tony said they would like him to go 5...4 minimum. He went 4. For what
its worth.

Mar. 12, 1:21 p.m .- Pujols grounded into DP...Holliday doubled...but Berkman flied out to
end the inning. Can this team score???

Mar. 12, 1:13 p.m. - Matt Carpenter first pitch swinging...single off Pavano. That'll
probably be his last AB before Pavano is done. 1-2 off a very good big
league pitcher. Impressive.

Mar. 12, 12:54 p.m. - Jon Jay got robbed...by the umpire. Crushes a ball down the first base
line...looked fair but called foul. He then strikes out. Theriot then
ends inning with a 6-4-3 DP. Ouch!

Mar. 12, 12:53 p.m. - Yadi throws out Matt Tolbert trying to steal. That's more like it....

Mar. 12, 12:49 p.m. - Yadi grounds into DP to end inning. That man does just about
everything well in baseball. Really. But running is NOT one of them.

Mar. 12, 12:42 p.m. - Nice play by Theriot keeps damage to a minimum in the 2nd. Just one
run allowed off Westbrook. Honestly can't say I thought he could make
that play. Pleasantly surprised by his arm there.

Mar. 12, 12:39 p.m. - Crowd went nuts after foul ball into the stands. Hope no one got
nailed. That'd be bad for business.

Mar. 12, 12:37 p.m. - Some hard hit balls vs Westbrook in the 2nd. Maybe he didn't like the
added dirt?

Mar. 12, 12:30 p.m - After dirt was added to mound Pavano proceeded to K Matt Carpenter and
get Pujols/Holliday to weakly fly out. Ya...he might have known what
he was doing.

Mar. 12, 12:27 p.m. - Pretzel guy while Albert is hitting: If you wanna see him next year
you gotta buy a pretzel!

Mar. 12, 12:26 p.m. - Carpenter Ks swinging. Eh. Blame it on the lay off while they fixed the mound.

Mar. 12, 12:21 - It's the mound. They're bringing out more dirt to put where the
pitcher's lead leg lands. No big deal.

Mar. 12, 12:20 p.m. - What's going on at the mound? Everyone out there with umps and coaches
for Twins? They looking at Pavano? The mound?

Mar. 12, 12:18 p.m. - Big AB for Carpenter coming up. Who knows how many chances he'll get
vs Pavano. Theriot on 2nd. Albert on deck. Here ya go! Deliver!

Mar. 12, 12:16 p.m. - Matt Carpenter assisting on 2 of the 3 outs in the 1st. The last one a
nice play going to his left. The legend of his spring
continues...(sarcasm-kind of)

Mar. 12, 12:14 p.m. - Definitely don't see that everyday. Yadi trying to throw out Denard
Span stealing 2nd base...he air mails one to center. Never seen that.
Truly.

Mar. 12, 12:06 p.m. - 72 degrees here and packed at Roger Dean. Such a fantastic day.

Mar. 12, 12:02 p.m. - Lou Brock out for lineup exhange...and its game time.

Mar. 12, 9:32 a.m. - No definite timetable for when Berkman will play OF. They want to keep
DHing him for the time being. Conceivably could get just 2 weeks there
and be fine. Will come down to whether the opposing teams want to have
a DH or not. Could have games where Cards have a DH and the other
doesn't.

Mar. 12, 9:29 a.m. - Freese will play tomorrow and Monday, be off Tuesday and then play in
Lakeland on Wednesday. So back to back games are on the horizon.
Could've played today.

Mar. 12, 9: 27 a.m. - Mitchell Boggs will absolutely pitch today. Needs to see action after
missing time with lower back injury.

Mar. 12, 9:26 a.m. - Lefty pitcher John Gast is another youngster who is making a great
impression and has a chance at making the team. Again...most likely he
won't. But should be a big leaguer at some point.

Mar. 12, 9:24 a.m. - Trying to find a spot for Matt Carpenter on the roster...this is me
speculating. You know Laird, Jay and Craig are going to be on the
team. Greene is a decent bet as well. Vasquez makes sense to hold a
spot until Punto returns. So Carpenter would probably have to beat out
Vasquez or Greene (very hard to do). He'll probably go to AAA and come
up midseason.

Mar. 12, 9:21 a.m. - Regarding Matt Carpenter...TLR says he will be a big leaguer. When? He
doesn't know. But the way he goes about it, the way he works, his
intensity...its not a surprise that he's having so much success.

Mar. 12, 9:19 a.m. - Notes from Tony's chat: Matt Carpenter does in fact have a chance at
making the team. Really gets on base and is interested to see how he
does in front of Albert against Carl Pavano.

Mar. 12, 8:42 a.m. - Spags says he is not doing TV interviews. Pity.

Mar. 12, 8:30 a.m. - Steve Spagnuolo is in the house! Wonder what he thinks about the NFL
labor issue. He's very good friends with Tony La Russa.

Mar. 12, 7:46 a.m. - Jake Westbrook makes the start. Batista, Boggs, Franklin, Sanchez,
Motte, Gast and Valdes available in relief.

Mar. 12, 7:45 a.m. - Lineup 3/12: Theriot 6...Carpenter 5...Pujols 3...Holliday 7...Berkman
DH...Rasmus 8...Molina 2...Schumaker 4...Jay 9
