(KMOV)-- Workers and community members will protest in downtown St. Louis Friday afternoon opposing the visit of the US Chamber of Commerce President.
Tom Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will be speaking at an RCGA luncheon about the economy and health care.
Donohue’s presentation will emphasize improving the nation's regulatory process, modernizing infrastructure, reforming education, and expanding trade.
Donohue will also discuss his belief in the importance of an adequately funded and well-maintained infrastructure system, as it relates to economic growth and job creation.
Protesters believe that the Chamber has been a force increasing the disparity in wealth and income, as well as jeopardizing workplace democracy.
The Chamber has been lobbying to eliminate protections for homeowners against the foreclosure practices of banks as well.
