(KMOV.com) -- The man who was struck crossing Interstate 270 died at Barnes Jewish Hospital Sunday afternoon.
Police said around 1:30 Sunday morning, Scott Lorenzo, 26, from Florissant, Missouri was crossing I-270 near the Washington/Elizabeth exit when he was struck by a vehicle. Lorenzo was immediately transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital in serious condition. He later died.
The interstate was shut down in the area of the accident until 4 a.m. Sunday.
The driver, Gene Rinker, 61, has not been charged with anything. The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating.
