Jupiter, Florida (KMOV,com) -- KMOV.com's Brian Feldman is in Jupiter, Florida covering the Cardinals and is posting regular updates from spring training.  It is Sunday and the Cards squaring off against Florida.

...

4:56 p.m. - Postgame notes from the rain shortened 7-2 loss today:

-- Tony says Motte was overthrowing and should know better. Motte said his ball was flat and up and over the middle of the plate. Just as mad at this as he'd be over doing this in the regular season.

-- Kevin Thomas was pretty good and obviously they like him. However they did send him to minor league camp after the game. TLR says he's one of their "better prospects".

-- Mark Hamilton homers to center and gets more praise from the manager. They like his swing and he's making quite an impression in camp.

-- David Freese is officially a go for tomorrow in Fort Myers. He is anxiously awaiting the chance to get on the field for the first time.

8:54 a.m. - Carpenter says he's going to "see how it goes" in his side session.
Says he can still feel it a little bit in his hamstring. Not going to
just get on the mound and fire away. If it hurts too much he'll shut
it down.

8:18 a.m. - Have received word rain is a possibility today. I'm no meteorologist
but, for now, no rain clouds are on the horizon. That could change in
an instant obviously...

8:16 a.m. - David Freese obviously not in the lineup. He has taken a couple ABs in
games but is yet to take the field defensively...let alone start.

8:14 a.m. - Chris Carpenter is on the schedule to throw a side session at 10:15
eastern. This was supposed to be his day to start so that's a very
good sign he's A) throwing and B) staying on schedule.

7:59 a.m. - Kevin Thomas starting on the mound with Ryan Franklin, Jason Motte,
Scott McGregor, Eduardo Sanchez and Brian Tallet available to pitch in
relief.

7:57 a.m. - Lineup 3/6: Theriot 6...Jay 9...Pujols 3...Holliday 7...Berkman
DH...Craig 5...Schumaker 4...Laird 2...Greene 8.
