(KMOV)—Crews tackled a fire that fully engulfed a north St. Louis home Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out around 6 a.m. at Lucille Ave. and Goodfellow Blvd.
The St. Louis Fire Department says the house is occupied, but the homeowner already left for work by the time of the fire. No one else was in the home.
News 4 photojournalist Nick Zervos, aboard Skyzoom 4, said he could see the flames from downtown St. Louis.
Fire officials do not yet know the cause, but it appears to have started on the second floor in the back of the house.
The rear of the house suffered the most destruction. The house next door was partially damaged, as well.
Firefighters now have the fire under control.
