(KMOV)-- Crews were able to put out a fire that started just before midnight on Monday.
The fire broke out in a two-story brick home at 2157 East Linton, in north St. Louis.
Officials say the fire started in the basement and moved up to the second floor by the time firefighters were able to extinguish it.
All six people in the home made it out safely, but the house was heavily damaged. Authorities say the home is livable, but the Red Cross was called in to assist the family.
The fire is being ruled accidental.
