(KMOV) -- A group of alleged carjackers are on the run after reportedly snatching three cars in a matter of hours.
The first happened around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday on 500 block of North 19th Street near Washington Street in the St. Louis Loft District. The 37-year-old victim tells St. Louis police that he was walking to his car when a man approached him from behind. The victim says the suspect placed a hard object, believed to be a gun, on the victim's side and demanded his keys. The victim handed over his keys and the suspect took off in the victim's black Chevy Tahoe. The suspect was last seen driving south on North 19th Street. The suspect is described as a black man around 5'7"-5'8" with a thin build. The suspect had a white T-shirt over his face.
At around 3:00 a.m. police say a man carjacked an 88-year-old man in the 4300 block of Enright. The victim tells St. Louis police that he had parked his Champagne-colored Lexux and was about to get out when a brown car, possibly a Toyota, drove down the sidewalk and stopped next to the passenger side of his car. A grey four-door vehicle then stopped next to the victim's driver side. The victim tells police that a suspect got out of the grey car and took the victim's keys and car. The suspect then allegedly held a gun to the victim's head and took his cash and a watch. The victim says that a third vehicle then pulled up and all four vehicles drove east on Enright. The only suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, between 5'6" and 5'8" with short hair. He was last seen wearing a maroon T-shirt and grey pants.
Finally, investigators say that the same group of suspects pulled a gun on a driver at the intersection of San Diego and Refield Court in Normandy. The suspects took off with a silver Dodge Magnum.
Investigators say that the last two carjackings were related.
Police are now searching for the suspects. They say one of the suspects involved in the last two carjackings had a Mohawk.
No injuries were reported in any of the carjackings.
