(KMOV) -- The City of St. Louis’ earning tax was a major topic of discussion at Monday’s Labor Day parade downtown.

An inflatable T-Rex caught people's attention during the parade. The inflatable dinosaur was a jab at Rex Sinquefield, the person who wants to abolish the tax.

Former St. Louis fire chief Sherman George joined members of the coalition, "Jobs with Justice" to tell people that if St. Louis gets rid of the earnings tax, the money will have to come from higher sales or property taxes.

Or, George says, St. Louis will have to prepare to lose services.

In November voters will decide whether or not Proposition A gets on the April ballot.
