DeSmet romps over Hazelwood East
In the battle of the Spartans, DeSmet witnessed the Durran Neal Show. Neal rushed for three TD’s (18,7,71), passed for two scores and returned an electrifying interception 75 yards for the score as he led DeSmet (1-1) past Hazelwood East (0-2) 44-24. Starting QB Leon Moody was lost for the season last week to DeSmet with an injuried knee. DeSmet jumped out to a 23-0 lead and coasted to the easy win. Trey Hill, HE QB, warmed up as the game unfolded and threw 3 TD’s strikes including scores of 80 and 60 yards.
