5 Schools locked down after 2 people run from St. Louis County police

(KMOV) -- Several local schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after two people fled from police.
According to Rick Eckhardt with St. Louis County police, officers pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop on Tuesday morning. During the stop, the two people inside the vehicle took off.
Bowles, Kellison, Stanton, Rockwood South, Rockwood Summit and Early Childhood Vandover were temporarily locked down because the suspects ran off near their campuses.
Around 10:40 a.m., police informed the district that they believe the suspects left the area.
Police continue to search for the suspects.
