Funeral arrangements set for DeSoto soldier killed in Afghanistan

(KMOV) -- Funeral arrangements have been made for a DeSoto soldier who was killed in action.

Staff Sergeant James Ide V was killed in action in Afghanistan. A visitation will be help at Desoto Senior High School from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday September 10th.  His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 11th at DeSoto Senior High School at 815 Amvets Drive.  He will then be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Ide served a tour in Korea and two tours in Iraq before going to Afghanistan.

Memorial contributions can be given to the Bank of America in Festus at 998 E. Gannon Road or to the James R. Ide Living Trust, 2839 Meyer Road in Festus.

Ide is survived by his wife Mandy and children, six-year-old Trinity and one-year-old James Ide VI.
