(KMOV) -- Police have arrested and charged an O’Fallon man with resisting arrest Thursday.
O’Fallon Police responded to a burglary call at about 3 a.m. on Sleighridge Court. After investigating, they spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area at about 7:40 a.m. with 30-year-old Charles Wallace sleeping inside.
Police attempted to take Wallace into custody, but he resisted arrest and got back in the car with one of his wrists handcuffed. Police pursued Wallace through a residential neighborhood and onto Highway 40, but lost site of the vehicle.
Wallace’s car was spotted by police on Wild Oak Drive in O’Fallon at 8:47 a.m. and pursued him again until he was arrested on Interstate 70 just west of Highway 47 at about 9:12 a.m.
Wallace side swiped a vehicle during the second chase, but no one was injured.
Wallace is charged with resisting arrest, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to any person, and first degree trespassing. Bond was set at $15,000.
