(KMOV) – One person was arrested after a police chase through O’Fallon, Missouri.
The incident started around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday when O’Fallon police received a call about a burglary on Sleighridge Court.
Several hours later, around 7:40 a.m., a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the area where the burglary occurred. A police officer made determined that this was the suspect from the early morning burglary.
Police say that when the officer tried to arrest the suspect, he got back into his vehicle with one handcuff on his wrist and took off.
That set off a police pursuit through a neighborhood and onto Highway 40. The chase came to an end when the officer lost sight of the car.
At around 8:45 a.m., the suspect’s vehicle was seen driving on Wild Oak Dr.
An officer followed the car from the Springhurst subdivision onto Route N and then onto Route Z.
On Route Z, police say the suspect side-swiped another vehicle and continued onto westbound I-70.
The Missouri Highway Patrol put out stop sticks just before the Warrenton, Missouri exit.
At around 9:15 a.m., the suspect was taken into custody on I-70 just west of Highway 47.
No one was injured in the incident.
The suspect’s name has not been released.
