(KMOV) -- KMOV.com received this news release today regarding road construction in O'Fallon, IL.
On August 27, dependent upon weather, reconstruction work on O’Fallon-Troy Road for a length of approximately 800-feet will begin at Bethel School Road and continue on around the curve north of that location. With this closure, the section of North Lincoln that has been closed will re-open for travel. However, with this closure, vehicles traveling north on Lincoln will only be able to access Bethel School Road. The south end of Bowler Road will only be accessible from O’Fallon-Troy Road. Vehicles will not be able to go from Bethel School Road and continue east on O’Fallon-Troy Road or travel from areas east of the new closure to Bethel School Road at its intersection with North Lincoln. This new road closure is in addition to the area already under reconstruction east of Seven Hills Road and Weil Road.
“We kindly ask our residents to be patient and considerate during this major reconstruction project”, said Mayor Gary L. Graham. “The St. Clair County Highway Department and their contractor will try to minimize the inconvenience caused by this project and are dedicated to making the situation as painless as possible. However, it is impossible to completely eliminate all the frustration that drivers and citizens will experience. We ask for your understanding and patience.”
The project is under the supervision of the St. Clair County Highway Department and the prime contractor is Thiems Construction of Edwardsville. As a service to our citizens, the City of O’Fallon will attempt to keep updated information on the project throughout its duration on our web site at http://www.ofallon.org/Public_Documents/OFallonIL_PublicWorks/index. Please direct questions or comments to the O’Fallon Public Works Department at 624-4500, ext. 3.
