(KMOV) – The Missouri Department of Transportation is closing lanes on eastbound I-64 over I-270 through Friday to get ready for a project that will last three months.
MoDOT says the I-64/I-270 interchange is about 16 years old, and the agency is making sure the bridge is in good condition to expand and contract with the temperature changes.
St. Louis County Police and Town and Country Police have been writing tickets because of drivers speeding through the work zone.
The speed limit has been reduced from 60 to 45 miles per hour.
In Missouri, if you injure or kill a highway worker, you can face a fine of up to $10,000 and lose your license for up to a year.
