(KMOV) -- The body of a missing woman was found by police in Hawn State Park Thursday.
Police found the body of 35-year-old Michele Irene Boyd of Miner, Mo. after searching overnight in the woods of the park. The cause of death is unknown.
The Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a vehicle parked within the park for several days from the Hawn State Park Superintendent. When authorities checked out the vehicle, they determined it was Boyd’s car.
A search was conducted that went through the night and into the next day, and at about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Boyd’s body was found about a half mile from her car in the wooded area of the park by a search and rescue dog.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
