St. Peters police arrest two men for stealing out of cars

(KMOV) – St. Peters police have arrested two men who allegedly stole items out of unlocked cars.

This happened in the Country Crossing Estates Neighborhood in St. Peters early Tuesday morning. The suspects got away with GPS devices and a .38 revolver handgun. 
 
According to police, a victim of the crime spree found his items for sale online and called police.   Police contacted the seller and met him to purchase the item. After it was identified that it was a stolen GPS, Chad Sneed, 19, was arrested. 
 
Police later arrested Mitchell Stenger, 19, of Westerly Court. 
 
Detectives uncovered several items that may have been stolen but no reported.
 
Sneed was charged with Theft of a Firearm, a Class C Felony, and is currently being held at St. Charles County Corrections on a $20,000 bond.
 
Stenger was released pending warrants.
