(KMOV)-- A bomb scare turned out to be nothing near an office in Crestwood.

This happened around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Camera Avenue.

Authorities said someone found what appeared to be a pipe bomb on the floor.

St. Louis County Bomb and Explosives tried to detonate the device but found out it was a hollow tube with no explosive inside.

Witnesses tell News 4 the device was found outside a lawyer's office.

Authorities said this is a secure office. They are not clear where the device came from.

A statement from David Gamache, Partner with Gamache & Myers, P.C. :

"We found something in the office that looked like a copper pipe, with a wire sticking out, possibly an explosive device. The safety of our employees is paramount to the firm. We called police, they arrived, and it turned out to be nothing."
