(KMOV) – Police arrested a 50-year-old man on Tuesday in connection with a reported arson at Congressman Russ Carnahan’s campaign field office at 7000 Chippewa.

Witnesses reported hearing glass breaking and later smelling smoke.

The fire department responded and put out a small fire in the rear of the first floor building. The fire caused minor damage to the office. No one was inside at the time.

An investigation revealed the first floor rear glass window had also been broken. The fire department classified the incident as arson and turned the investigation over to the Bomb & Arson Unit.
