ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A judge in St. Louis is helping create a school where 120 students who might otherwise be suspended will be given a place to learn.
St. Louis Circuit Judge Jimmie Edwards proposed the school last April. It will be called Innovation Concept Academy at Blewett.
Three groups will govern the school: the public school district, a juvenile division of Missouri Family Court and MERS Goodwill.
The school will enroll sixth- through 12th graders and provide them with more support than they might get in a traditional setting.
