TROY, IL (KMOV) – A Metro-East man was charged Monday in connection to a string of outbuilding and vehicle burglaries in the rural area of Troy, Illinois.
Jeffrey C. Miller, 52, of Collinsville, was charged Monday with five felony counts of burglary by the Madison County Circuit Court.
Between the last week of September and first week of October, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to several reports of burglaries in rural Troy, Illinois.
According to authorities, in most incidents the suspect(s) stole yard equipment, generators, welders, chainsaws, and tools from unlocked outbuildings and vehicles.
Furthermore, a team of investigators were also assigned to the burglaries.
According to authorities, late last week investigators developed evidence linking Miller to at least two reported burglaries.
Authorities located Miller at his home and he was taken into custody during the late evening hours of Thursday, October 3, 2013.
Following an additional investigation, investigators ultimately linked Miller to several additional outbuilding burglaries that occurred in the rural Troy and Edwardsville areas.
Investigators continue their search for additional suspect(s) involved in several other reported burglaries throughout the rural areas around Troy.
Miller remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.
Bond for Miller was set at $150,000.
