Boy drowns in downtown St. Louis hotel pool

(KMOV.com) -- St. Louis Police are investigating the drowning of a 9-year-old boy at a downtown hotel’s pool.

Authorities said twin boys were pulled from the hotel pool. Police reported civilians were performing CPR on the two boys.

One of the twins was pronounced dead at the scene while the second remains hospitalized with serious injuries. His condition is unknown.

Police said other family members were in the pool at the same time.

The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pear Tree Inn in the 2200 block of Market. 

In a statement released early Sunday, David Ziegler, Division Director of Drury Hotels states,“We are aware of this tragic situation. We are working with police and medical personnel to find out the specifics of what happened. Our condolences go out to the family, friends and loved ones of those involved.”
