ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Two suspects were arrested and one is at-large following an officer-involved shooting in the 4500 block of Adelaide late Thursday.

St. Louis police say they were approaching the intersection of Rosalie and Adelaide when they observed a 25-year-old male suspect firing shots. After observing officers, the suspect fled into a residence.

Another suspect exited the rear door and ran into the yard with a firearm, police said. According to police, an officer identified himself to the suspect and ordered him to drop his weapon. The suspect fired a shot toward the officer. Fearing for his safety, the officer returned fire. The suspect fled into an alley and is at-large.

The first suspect was located inside the residence and taken into custody.

During the incident, officers received a call for a shooting in a neighboring residence. A  47-year-old woman had been shot in the abdomen and forearm. She was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Four subjects that were at the first location said they said they were seated on the porch when an argument ensued between the first suspect and a 27-year-old female.

During the altercation, the suspects approached the subjects and fired shots at the group.

The 27-year-old female suspect was taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
