(KMOV) – Police say a man accused of several past burglaries is back in custody after he allegedly broke into his girlfriend’s parents house in Mehlville and stole several items in late Sept.
Justin Jeffers, 24, was charged Sept. 24 with second-degree burglary and felony stealing.
According to police, Jeffers on Sept. 23 broke into a home in the 2200 block of Pecan Dr. and stole a watch, two laptop computers, a necklace and keys to a 2004 Chevrolet.
Authorities said a neighbor saw Jefferson walking back to his car carrying a black back. The neighbor wrote down the license plate number and called police.
The owner of the vehicle told officers the suspect was probably Jeffers, who is her daughter’s boyfriend.
Jeffers was arrested and officers got consent to search his girlfriend’s apartment. There they found the items he had allegedly stolen.
He was taken into custody and released after posting $25,000 bond.
