(BaseballStL) -- The Cardinals will carry 12 pitchers and 13 position players on their roster for the National League Division Series against the Pirates.
The 12 pitchers include: Adam Wainwright, Michael Wacha, Kevin Siegrist, Trevor Rosenthal, Edward Mujica, Shelby Miller, Carlos Martinez, Seth Maness, Lance Lynn, Joe Kelly, Randy Choate, and John Axford.
The 13 position players include: Yadier Molina, Tony Cruz, Matt Adams, Matt Carpenter, Daniel Descalso, David Freese, Pete Kozma, Kolten Wong, Carlos Beltran, Adron Chambers, Matt Holliday, Jon Jay, and Shane Robinson.
Mike Matheny hasn’t named his Game 3 starter, but starters Shelby Miller and Michael Wacha will be available in the bullpen for Game 1. With Adam Wainwright and Lance Lynn starting the first two games of the series, it leaves Joe Kelly as the most likely option to start Game 3.
Matheny also stated Pete Kozma and Daniel Descalso will likely split time at the shortstop position.
