(CBS News)  Mel B just wrapped her stint as a judge on "America's Got Talent," but that doesn't mean her schedule is getting any less busy.

"I don't know how I make it all work, but I just do," she said.

The singer just released "For Once in My Life," her first solo single in eight years. "Everything is so last minute because I don't have a label and I'm doing it all by myself, which I think is healthy. When I released my single and video I didn't do any promotion for it. I just released it because a good song is a good song. And thankfully, it got some really good reviews and reports."

The excitement surrounding the song has prompted Mel B to hit the studio to record another song and bring the music to fans. "My music has been accepted so well, so that's kind of taking off, so I'm going to back out on the road," she said.

And this past week, the Spice Girl known as Scary Spice co-hosted part of the "Today" show, something she's been doing on and off for the last six months.

"I like it. I get to sit there and read a bit of news, a bit of gossip," she said. "I get to sit there with Al (Roker) and Willie (Geist) and Natalie (Morales). It's been a good experience."

And despite many years in the business, Mel B admits she gets nervous while co-hosting the show sometimes. "I always have a bit of jittery in my stomach and I think that's healthy because that means I'm challenging myself and that I care," she said.

When asked if she would like to co-host on a full-time basis, Mel B said, "You know, anything can happen right now. I'm kind of at a stage in my life where I'm like, 'You know what? If I like something I'm gonna do it. So we'll see."

Mel B also kept things open for another Spice Girls reunion, saying, "Never say never."
