(KMOV) – One man was killed after a vehicle slammed into a fire hydrant and landed on top of a parked car at a north St. Louis gas station early Monday morning.
According to police, four people were in a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on N. Broadway near E. Grand around 1 a.m. when the driver lost control.
The SUV then struck a fire hydrant, rolled over and landed on top of a parked car at a nearby BP gas station.
A 32-year-old man in the rear left passenger seat was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A group of witnesses helped three other men get out of the vehicle. They were hospitalized in stable condition.
It was not known why the driver lost control.
