(KMOV) – A man is behind bars after police say he attempted to sell items on Craigslist that were allegedly stolen from cars in Wildwood on Sunday.
St. Louis County police say 18-year-old Michael Antonio Perez entered a garage in the 1500 block of Homestead Summit Drive overnight Saturday. He’s accused of taking money and a power cord.
Police say Perez also broke into a car parked in the 17000 block of Garden Ridge Circle that same evening. He took off with $1,700 worth of goods including a radar detector.
Police said one of the victims later found an ad on Craigslist for a radar detector he thought was his. He contacted police, then set up a meeting with Perez, who was arrested when he showed up to make the sale.
Authorities searched Perez’s home where they say they found other stolen property including cash, jewelry and electronics.
He has been charged with first-degree burglary, misdemeanor stealing and felony stealing, and held on a $35,000 bond.
