ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Some residents of a south St. Louis neighborhood say they are frightened after three fires erupted on the same block within a three week span.
Firefighters are still investigating the three fires, all at vacant houses in Benton Park, but residents say they think the fires are suspicious.
The first fire broke out at a structure on Missouri Avenue on Dec. 5. Nearly three weeks later, two more fires broke out on the same night.
Benton Park resident Katie Cavaluzzi said the fires are undoing some recent improvements to homes in the neighborhood.
"You know it's destroying the neighborhood, and I mean they've been fixing them up making it look really good out here, and then you've got people trying to destroy it," Cavaluzzi said.
Fire officials say investigations into the three blazes is ongoing.
