CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KMOV) -- Police were called out to investigate an unusual crime that’s being classified as “damage to property,” but could also be called a case of assault.
A homeowner in the 14800 block of Benton Taylor Drive in Chesterfield called police to investigate after someone damaged the snowman in his front yard.
In fact, the family’s snowman was knocked completely over, which some might call an assault.
According to police, the responding officer initially thought that a police report was not warranted because the snowman would have melted in a couple of days anyway. But the homeowner insisted the officer fill out a police report because the decorative clothing that was on the snowman was damaged when Frosty was tipped over.
Police didn’t record the estimated value of the damaged clothing or whether Frosty was sporting a Louis Vuitton outfit or wearing clothes with the Gucci label.
However, News 4 has learned that homes in the neighborhood where this “crime” occurred are valued at around a $500,000.
