BETHALTO, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A man was recently sentenced for the murder of 44-year-old Tabitha Milton-Rush, who was found dead in an embankment along Interstate 255 in Bethalo, Ill. in January, 2013.

Raamon Reed, 49, was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Reed killed his girlfriend Tabatha Milton-Rush and dumped her body in a ditch. Reed pleaded guilty in exchange for receiving a sentence no longer than 40 years in prison. 

Police said Reed and Milton-Rush were hanging out in a vehicle on I-255 about one mile north of Illinois Route 140 when he shot her multiple times. He then dumped her body and drove away from the scene.

Milton-Rush’s body was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the head on January 5, 2013. Police believe the shooting occurred on January 1.
